Personal History:

Alain started learning Judo at the age of six, following in the footsteps of his brothers. He started showing his exceptional abilities early by winning back-to-back junior tournaments in Cameroon and later all over Africa. His first step was really influenced by his mother, who had a love for the sport and wanted her boys to learn discipline yet to focus their energy positively. Since then, Alain successively learnt Judo (Black-belt), Shotokan Karate, Koshiki Karate, Kyokushin Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, French Boxing (Savate), Full Contact Kickboxing and, last but not least, Muay Thai. Alain was a former bodyguard of VIP's and high profile personalities in the Ivory Coast before immigrating to Hong Kong. He is famous for his brutal training regimen which is explosive and intense (check YouTube). With a huge fan base not only in Hong Kong but throughout the world, Alain is known as one of the fastest heavyweight fighters weighing at 102KG. His trademark move is the Panther Low Kick with his fights (always exciting to watch) usually ending with brutal knockouts. Like his younger brother Alain, James grew up studying a variety of martial arts such as Judo, Shotokan Karate, French Boxing (Savate), Kickboxing, Kyokushin Karate, Self Defence and has had the opportunity to gain knowledge whilst training around the world, notably in Japan and Europe. He is known for one of the most feared kicks in kickboxing - they can literally come from anywhere! James is a specialist in his discipline, not only being Branch Chief of Kyokushin Karate Hong Kong but also representing the English Contact Karate Association (ECKA), the World Professional Kickboxing Association (WPKA), the International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan (IKO) and the mixed martial arts International Federation of Kowat Alrami (IFKA) - so you can be sure to count on him to perfect your technique and give you the condition you need both physically and mentally.

One of the longest serving trainers at IMPAKT, Alvin came through the ranks as not only a trainer but also a Muay Thai fighter. Over the years with IMPAKT Alvin has expanded his knowledge and experience as a qualified personal trainer and brings a great variety and enthusiasm to his sessions. His excellent technical ability has led him to fight across Asia including Thailand and at the Hong Kong I-1 Promotions on several occasions. Alvin is fluent is English and Tagalog.

Personal History:

Gary, originally from England, UK, has been involved in Muay Thai and fitness training for many years. With lots of other sports under his belt he moved to Thailand where he lived for several years, gaining great experience and a wider knowledge of Muay Thai and certifying as a Muay Thai instructor. In Thailand Gary set up his own gym, Naga Muay Thai in Koh Samet, where he had the opportunity to meet and train with world class fighters. Given that, IMPAKT seized the opportunity to recruit him and he has been here since 2008 where he has established a client base that benefits from his expanse of knowledge and experience.

Personal History:

Coming from South Africa, Irshaad is one of the youngest fighters at IMPAKT. Nonetheless with quite an impressive record, Irshaad started learning Muay Thai in South Africa after winning all amateur championships; he then went on to Thailand to improve and gain a better knowledge of his skills, winning the WMC World Championship at the age of 18. He is now a certified fitness trainer and has established himself as one of the most famous fighters in Hong Kong as well as being the ambassador for 2XU Compression clothing.

David left his native France at the age of 19 to go to Thailand to focus on his career as a Muay Thai fighter and, after winning his first fight in Phuket, won the hearts of the Thai people who nicknamed him 'The Buffalo'. He had the honour of fighting for a belt in Lumpinee Stadium and went on to win 49 of his 65 professional fights - notably 40 by knockout! Having made Thailand his home for 16 years David can bring the rare combination of a European trainer with vast competition experience and knowledge of the true spirit of Muay Thai to Hong Kong, priding himself on his ability to get the best out of all of his clients whether training to fight or simply get in the best shape of their lives.

Personal History:

Thomas began practicing martial arts in his teens, studying Shotokan Karate, Tae Kwan Do, Kung Fu and Kickboxing and later discovered Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which he started training in 1997. He started with one of the first groups of No Gi BJJ in London, UK with the Anaconda Team and within one year began competing against some of the pioneers of the sport such as Remco Pardoel (UFC) and Jon Olav Einemo (ADCC Champion and PRIDE FC). This later led to his introduction to Jose 'Ze' Marcello Rodrigues, under whom he earned his Brown Belt in 2007 and founded Kylin BJJ. Thomas has been a chief instructor of BJJ in Hong Kong since 2002 and is credited with fostering the sport not only here but also in Taiwan. His experience has also led him to be an advisor and referee in many MMA events across Asia. Many of Thomas's clients have gone on to be successful competitors and with his experience as an Osteopath and martial arts instructor he offers a rare combination of coaching skills and in-depth knowledge of how to get the most out the body safely.
